Hello Everyone,
Today I will be reviewing a product that I got sent by the wonderful company 'Thalgo'. As you know a while back I did a blog post on their 'Pure Velvet Cleansing Cream' which 'Thalgo' were really impressed with-so due to this they sent me products to review for them.
As you can see by the title I will be reviewing their 'Absolute Purifying Mask'. I've been trying this product for about 2-3 weeks now so I could give a fair and honest review on the product. The same as my last blog post I will be categorizing the review into 6 sectors- First Impressions, What's In It, Usage, Effects, Value and Final Verdict-this is how most of my blog posts will be set out from now on. Further or do let's getting on with the review.
First Impression:
So obviously this product is from the same brand as my last review. It's from the French marine cosmetics company 'Thalgo'. The packaging is in a lovely grayish blue tube which is always great when it comes to masks as I personally hate the one's in the jars and also found the tube easier to work with as you can always squeeze little amounts at a time out. To many people wouldn't find the packaging to be very appealing but to me its great, Its simple and not to "in your face" which is great as I sometimes hate the "in your face" packaging especially on a "pricey" product like so. The product itself smells kind of tea tree, which hazel smelling which is great because I love them kind of scents as they are fresh and not so over powering. The product itself is a little thick but very creamy while applying to the face. I found the mask at first to apply on a very light ivory greenish color which to me was so fun because I thought it was gonna dry a darker color, unfortunately it didn't...in fact it dried up clear so it basically looked like you had nothing on your face.
What's In It:
Here are all the ingredients that are inside the product:-

Usage:
I applied the product twice a week (Wednesday & Sunday) for the following 2 to 3 weeks in an even layer across my entire face which I did find very difficult as I normally just "slap" the mask on my face and leave it to dry but due to instructions I did manage to get it even avoiding my eye area. I left this for 15 minutes (even thou it says to leave for 10) and then rinsed it off with luke warm water.
Effects:
So if you didn't know I do suffer with "combination" skin (dry/oily) so I was very concerned on how this product would work. Apparently to the product and "Thalgo" themselves this product can be used on all skin types. With the first usage of the mask I did notice a little difference with my skin not being so oily but it didn't really come to my expectations of what I thought the product would of done first time round as my skin still felt a dry in areas such as my cheeks. While waiting for the mask to dry I could feel it slowly sicking into my skin which felt very weird as I've never had a mask like that before (as I am more of a sheet mask person). I used the mask a couple more times after that and found the more I used it the better my skin was looking. It gave the dry areas more moister making it look even and not flakey and horrible and made the oily area's well less oily.
Value:
So the 40ml tube retails for £23.00 on their website and would probably last about 2-3 months depending on the usage. To me for a mask it is a little pricey but for the way it changed my skin I probably would purchase it.
Final Verdict:
Overall I think the "Thalgo Absolute Purifying Mask" is a actual life saver especially if you suffer with skin as dreadful as mine. I still can't get over how smooth and clean my skin looks every time I use the product. Even thou the price is a little pricey I still recommend it 100% to anyone- you never know it might become your new beloved mask.
If you are interested in the product you can go over to Thalgo's website which is http://www.thalgo.co.uk/
I hope you enjoyed my blog post. Let me know your favorite mask whether its a sheet mask to a clay mask.
Until then!x
